Magico VIII

Brave yet gentle enough to be a child's lead-line horse. Magico sired over 100 foals with more than 220 show titles between them, and was ridden by over 200 people as our lesson horse. He passed in 2022 at 25; his story stays here for the families who own his offspring.

What judges & breeders say

“I have never seen an Andalusian move like this. Most horses have two good gaits and one that you hope the judge doesn't care much about. All three of his gaits are outstanding.”
USDF judge — On Saltador ORO, her Grand Champion Dressage Sporthorse
“I have been standing stallions for 26 years and your stallions have the best temperament I have ever seen.”
Breeding farm owner — Who trained us to collect our stallions
“I judge a lot of horses and forget most by the next day. I will not be forgetting your stallions any time soon.”
International USEF judge — On Saltador and Dardanos
“I can't believe you were able to purchase this treasure. He is so well balanced and you can pick out his foals at a glance.”
Revision official from Spain — On Persiles YET
“I just want to tell you, this is the best horse at the national show!”
Spanish judge — At Saltador's first national show
“Anyone can ride this horse; he is 90% horse and 10% rider.”
Olympic reserve rider — After her first ride on Magico
“Mother, how did you let this one get away? He uses the hind end like a warmblood. Put me in line for next year's!”
USDF Gold Medalist — Wellington, FL — on a weanling colt by Persiles
“There aren't enough adjectives to describe these fillies. Beautiful, friendly, outgoing, intelligent, inquisitive, problem solving. Their conformation and movement are outstanding.”
Ohio owner — Of a Thoroughbred mare from Secretariat lines
“What impresses me the most about the horses out of your stud is their minds. I am working with two right now and they both show a lot of sense.”
Trainer — East & West Coast experience
